Skills Recognition Project (SRP)

The Women's Council for Domestic and Family Violence Services (WCDFVS) in partnership with the West Coast Institute of Training and the Department for Child Protection (DCP) are able to provide Women's Refuge staff with the opportunity to gain recognition of their existing skills through the awarding of a Community Service Work Certificate III, IV and/or Diploma.

After a successfull pilot in 2009/10 the program is running again in 2011 and additional funds have been provided by DCP allowing us to offer a 50% enrollment subsidy for Refuge staff.
The benifits of this program include:
  • Empowers staff by recognising skills they have already gained in the workplace.
  • Provides a clear pathway to gain formal qualifications.
  • Minimum paperwork due to holistic assessment tools.
  • Adds professional credibility and status to staff and service.
  • Assistance with enrollment subsidies.
