Safe at Home Program

“The aim of the Safe at Home Program is to provide support for women and children experiencing domestic violence to stay in their housing, when it is safe to do so. The program will contribute to increasing the number of families who maintain safe and sustainable housing following family violence.” (Safe at Home Service Specifications, 2010 – 2013)

How can the Safe At Home program help?

You don’t have to leave your home to leave a violent or abusive partner. The Safe At Home staff can help you assess your safety to stay at home, advise you on the physical safety of your home, and help you make safety plans to protect you and your children.

The staff will provide practical and emotional support to assist you to remain in the home and re-establish your life free from violence. Safe At Home staff can help you with information about Violence Restraining Orders, financial options, parenting orders and other forms of support so that you can decide what to do.
